The World Economy Research Center (CIEM) is an academic institution considered a reference center on global economic issues in the Latin American and Caribbean region. Founded in November 1979, in Havana, Cuba, its fundamental activity has focused on research on the main issues of the world economy, with particular emphasis on the problems that affect underdeveloped countries and on proposed solutions for the themselves.
