Organism of the Central Administration of the Cuban State in charge of directing, guiding and executing the cultural policy of the country —in the scope of its competence—; as well as guarantee the defense, preservation and enrichment of the nation's cultural heritage. Its mission is: "To direct, guide, control and execute, within the scope of its competence, the application of the cultural policy of the State and the Government, as well as guarantee the defense, preservation and enrichment of the cultural heritage of the Cuban nation."
