The first period of the Cuban Academy of History lasted from 1910 to 1962. In the second half of 2010, the Council of State of the Republic of Cuba agreed to reestablish the Academy, which resumed its sessions on February 24, 2011. The fundamental mission of the Association, as the highest authority in the research, study and promotion of History in the country, is to safeguard the Cuban historical legacy.
