La Verónica (Havana, 1939-1942). Publishing house founded by the Malaga poet, writer and editor Manuel Altolaguirre and his wife, the Madrid poet, writer and playwright Concha Méndez. It had a brief but intense life and, although it was only active in Cuba for four years (before moving to Mexico with its founder), La Verónica was one of the most important Cuban publishers of its time and became the spokesperson for the republican ideals of the Spanish exiles residing on the island.
