Ana María Suárez Alfonso

PhD in Biological Sciences. She is a Consultant Professor at the Marine Research Center (CIM), of the University of Havana, where she began her professional life as a teacher and researcher, in September 1970; Her teaching and research experience in Marine Biology has had an emphasis on Ecology, Phytogeography and Taxonomy of Marine Macroalgae. He has received several prizes and recognitions, among them, the Medal for Cuban Education, the Julián Acuña National Prize from the Cuban Botanical Society, and the National Prize for Marine Sciences. He is a permanent member of the International Committee of the Phycological Society of Latin America and the Caribbean.
