Virgilio Martínez

He made an infinite number of vignettes for multiple publications. In addition, he created logos that are still in use. In 1959 he joined Mella magazine as artistic director and cartoonist. Creator of the emblems of the Association of Young Rebels and the Union of Young Communists, the latter in 1962, an organization with which he worked for 30 years. From 1965 to 1967 I worked as a humorous cartoonist in Juventud Rebelde and its supplements El Sable, La Chicharra, DDT and Pionero. He entered Pioneer in 1974, where he held the responsibility of artistic director. He also held the same responsibility in the Zunzún magazine. Throughout the revolutionary stage he has been a collaborator of INRA, Moncada, Mar y Pesca, Bohemia, Editorial Pablo, La Calle and other publications. He also worked in Somos Jóvenes Magazine, and later, since the late 1980s, he integrated the international editorial staff of Granma as a cartoonist. He passed away on May 12, 2008
