Junta Central de Planificación de la Dirección Central de Estadística

It was created on March 11, 1960 with the promulgation of Law 757. Its objective was to establish, guide, supervise and coordinate the economic policy of the different State agencies and autonomous entities, so that there would be unity of criteria and action among them; as well as to establish the general rules guiding the action of the private sector. The State Budget, tariff and fiscal procedures, and economic, statistical and technological research were also the subject of study and attention of the Board, as well as to supervise technical assistance. The Board was created as a collegiate body at Ministerial level, chaired by the Prime Minister, Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz, and made up of the Ministers indicated by the law.
