Ariel Lardoeyt Perera
Ariel Lardoeyt Perera (Santiago de Cuba, February 17, 1956). His background as a university professor, civil engineer, environmentalist, and poet greatly contributes to his literary work. The Cuban décima (a ten-line stanza form) has been present in his works such as: “From the Womb to Prison,” “Dear Hugo Rafael,” “Our Achilles,” “That's Why I Am Fidel,” “Controversy Between Life and Death,” “Colorrima,” “Chaguito's Décimas,” “The Tones of the Hurricane,” and others. His work also reflects the artistic talent of his friend Isauro A. Salas Alfonso, with whom he founded the MILART Artistic Creation Group in 2000, under the motto: “the thousand ways to make art.”
