Luis Lorenzo Sosa
He studied at the local art school from the age of 13, but had his first job in a towel factory. A largely self-taught artist, in 1960 he joined the art team of Mella magazine under the direction of Virgilio Martínez. The following year, he participated in the first issue of the Pioneer magazine, taking charge of the first cover of the magazine, where he remained as a collaborator for thirty years until he moved to Zunzun in 1990. His best-known creations are Kombey, the samurai in the magazine ¡Aventuras! And the science fiction series Matías Pérez in Pioneer. He also worked with Juan Padrón in Ronin, another series of samurai, and with Marcelino Ortiz in Capitán Fabricio and Zombo. He was familiarly known by the nickname of "The General".
